Checking in an item
Return a checked-out item and close out its chain-of-custody record.
Checking in records the return of an item and closes that leg of its chain-of-custody record.
Find the active checkout
From Check Out, open the Active checkouts tab and find the item being returned — for example, the Glock 17 (#A4471) issued to Cpl. Jordan Bishop.
Record condition on return
Note the item's condition at check-in and add any condition notes. This is compared against the condition recorded at checkout, so any change is captured.
Capture signature and confirm
Capture the returning officer's digital signature and confirm. The item's status returns to Available and the return is logged with a timestamp.
Returned items move to the Recent returns tab, where you can review condition in and out for each one.
